I wouldn't be surprised honestly. Without him, oneonta looks pretty weak. Probably a 4th place finish overall. No depth.
Can anyone explain how Geneseo and Oneonta can go to nationals in cross country and then haven't put up any respectable track times comparatively? with the exception of a few on both teams, most are just running mediocre times and don't compare with how they ran in cross country

Indoor is worthless. Outdoor is king.

I doubt their performance has much to do with how much they care about the season.
Collins is washed up, never seen a one and done like him. Dropped out of Ithaca 800 then ran the 4x4 like what's with this scrub. Speaking of Oneonta where are the 3 seniors neither raced this weekend but Fleming was at Ithaca. Probably scratched because one thing went wrong and he overreacted like classic Oneonta scrubs. Speaking of washed up add Mitch Ryan to the list like stop trying to force your broken body to move. Ben Griffen and IGC big races though 1:52 at Ithaca and IGC 4:10! Also watch out for that Brockport frosh Sean at sunyacs the guy has range and a dirty kick in the 8.

Don't put Collins away just yet, he tore his ACL in the summer playing pickup racquetball and is still coming back from it. Apparently he was in the shape of his life when the injury happened. Expect big things when he comes back though, that kid is a fighter.
Genny boys are back! IGC 4:10, Ripa 4:19, Briggs 8:39, Kramer 14:56, Mazzuca 15:04! YEAH
While I doubt Collins will put up a decent time this season, you're talking a lot of cheese there. Why should Busby or Fleming have run? They both dropped great times last week. Why bother running at Ithaca a week later? And we already know that Lupia is coming back from being sick.
What we should be talking about is Buff. Classic February opening and putting down great performances. They look strong everywhere Cortland is. Suddenly Oneonta doesn't have the 4x4 locked down either.
3k and 5k are starting to get interesting with some hot times over the last 2 weeks, and next week with another BU meet. Up for grabs, who ya got for medals?
I heard that Mitch Ryan actually ran 8:20 in the 3k at Ithaca, but no one saw him finish because of his new camo uniform. Going to be tough for genny boys to deal with him when they can't see him.
Geneseo sweep in the 3k-5k?
5k: Kramer, Mazzuca, Briggs
3k: IGC, Briggs, RIPA

are you saying that this isn't a very real scenario? give me a different on then
mile: IGC 4:05, Griffin 4:14, Briggs 4:16, Granger 4:18, Hoelzl 4:18
3k: Mazzuca 8:29, Kramer 8:34, Burks 8:38
5k: Kern 15:01, Pulvidente 15:10
The mile got a lot deeper after the weekend. IGC for the win with a good battle for 2-3-4 in Griffin, Briggs, Granger and Hoelzl. 3k should be good with Mazzuca, IGC, Fleming, Kramer, Burks and Briggs all running sub 8:40. 5k is anyone's game. Kramer, Busby, Mazzuca, Briggs, Kern
Kind of sad that other teams in the SUNYAC can't touch Geneseo in the distance events. What happened? Every school used to at least be able to produce a couple guys from Fredonia, Oneonta, Brockport, and Cortland who could go toe-to-toe with them, but up front it's looking like a whole lot of white and blue... Kind of boring like that.

SUNYACs will be interesting. It's either gonna be a blood bath by Gen or this lack of competition will get to them and you'll see a few upsets. Only time will tell.
Time will tell? Just look at the lists. The only two in the 3k that can break up Geneseo are Fleming and Busby, and the only three in the 5k are Busby, Greenseich and Fleming. Nobody else is remotely close
Are people really predicting geneseo distance runners to come through and deliver a blood bath? Jeez, last time I saw them they were drowning in their own blood after falling on the sword (knight joke) at nationals. 10/10 will go home DEVASTATED.
Seems to be that Geneseo is just keeping guys healthy. Big guys from all around the SUNYAC have gone done this winter, big ones being Lupia, Mulcahy, Ryan, and Collins. Another major key to Geneseo dominance so far is Oneonta's success (or lack of). The team gets 22nd at cross nationals but can only get 4-5 distance guys into YAC's. Their freshman gave them depth this fall but apparently they're on vacation still since not a single one is qualified. Geneseo is running very well but the only reason they're a lock at YAC's is because everyone else is deciding not to compete.
