Our school has a coach, but she makes us taper way too much.
This is a sample week from a few weeks ago:
M: Easy
T: Varsity does 1 x 400 at "starting" race pace, 1 x 800 at "middle" race pace, 1 x 400 "end" of race pace. All done on a course, not a track. Non-varsity no practice
W: Varsity recovery run, non-varsity do 2 sets of hills, 10 seconds up hard, 10 seconds jog back, all the way up to 70
T: Easy 30 min
F: Day before race preparations (basically 20 min jog)
S: Race (for varsity)
S: Long run/off for non-varsity
How can I get more running in if my coach is only doing this?
