Not so much. You're just trying to make yourself feel better for getting old and fat. Push away from the table, tubby.

A lot of overthinking going on here. From my experiences:
-Fit women by and large are not attracted to the dad bod. They put in the effort to stay fit and value athleticism, therefore they want someone with those same healthy values.
However, as we know from recent statistics posted here, most people are fat, gross, and lazy - both men and women.
The women who genuinely prefer the dad bod are going to be your 'basic bitches' who know they have nothing of real value to bring to the table - no body, menial job, boring personality, no hobbies, etc. Deep down they are acutely aware of these inadequacies, and they are not about to deal with a guy who has his sh*t together. Her insecurities will rear their ugly head at every opportunity, and she knows this.
The safe choice for your average American woman is the beer-drinking, ESPN and video game-addicted couch potato. At that point both of them know this is about the best they can do, and they're free to wallow in their own gross mediocrity together. Until the divorce of course, which will be 5-10 years from that point.
I'm a middle age man with a dad bod and I can tell you that it is a plus to be able to go to the mall and shop for braziers and manziers with my wife and then stop at a coffee shop to catch up on the gossip.

Well, inquiring minds want to know: do you have a "manssiere" or a "bro?"
It all depends upon the accompanying outfit and the occasion.
I have become nothing if not stylish.
We subconsciously crave dad bodz when they're ovulating.
Dad bod = security, provider, beta
Fit bod = adventure, excitement, alpha
Different roles for different woman, or different ages/times of month.

Correction: Older women
What is dad bod really? wrote:
LRC talking about women. Always hilarious. Funny comment on Hadsell but I would call him a dad bod. Unless I'm not getting the dad bod definition.

Women are real self conscious about their body.
If their mate is very fit they will feel worse about themselves.
And they think their man will be looking to cheat on them.
Wrong
Wrong
Wrong
So much bullshite on this thread
Women don't fancy skinny runners
However
They do fancy cross fit type gym lads, healthy looking guys with tans and six packs
Just because you can run 1430 for 5k doesn't mean a woman thinks you're hot
In all probability they think you area skinny boy
Any man under 10 stone should be ashamed of their pathetic lady boy bodies
Fact
I'm not a young woman. I'm a pretty fit middle aged woman. I don't like "dad bods". I tend to prefer fairly fit men because if I work at staying in shape (and believe me, it's not easier the older a lady gets!) I would like to same effort in my partner. I don't mind skinny runner types at all. I don't go for super fit cross fit types men because they are mostly narcissistic jerks. However, perfection to me are swimmer's bodies.

Fat Wallet yes. Sex they do not care about. They want a good looking guy to show off to their girlfriends.

What - self obsessed losers who think they're fit, who drone on about their fitness and diet and exercise regime and make a big deal out of bouncing around with some other people but without actually competing or achieving anything useful?
Think again. At least if a guy can place top 3 in his local 5k, he's actually doing something.
by the way, this whole thread is so bogus. Men who are past having any chance with hot women trying to make themselves feel better than older women might occasionally find them attractive. Women don't fancy fat men, if they have other options.
As a way over the hill runner but still jog/lift, i now sadly like to feel superior to my peers on my irregular visits to Walmart.
That is, no beer belly, have hair and teeth and no physical or mental challenges thst make me shop in a scooter. There is a big socio/economic divide in our society.
Maybe when they're younger. The problem with the dad bod is that when he's 40ish he'll lose his ability to perform.
THEN, the woman starts looking for fit guys who can still get it up
Luckily, I avoided that by staying fit.
Keep your mileage low, do speed and hill work and keep your core strong you young guys out there.
Oh. and stay single- when the women are coming on to you when you're 50 you're gonna wish you had.
