We came across a nice article by Kerry Eggers as he apparently got Rupp, Cain and Cheserek to talk to her after their races in Portland.
http://portlandtribune.com/pt/12-sports/312801-190806-cain-looks-able-rupp-too-on-eve-of-trials
In addition to the comment from Ches, it's full of great insight from Rupp and Cain. Cain raves about John Henwood and Rupp raves about his training.
Cain: “John has been amazing,†she said. “He has helped rescue the season for me in a lot of ways. We knew going into it that meant it would be a little bit of a crunch, but I’ve always treated this as a long-term thing. Nothing has changed that."
“I feel like after a couple of years of being a little bit off, I’m finally turning the switch on. I’m hoping that means in two weeks the engines are really revving. But no matter what, I know I’m on the right path, which is the important thing.â€
Rupp was bullish about his future and says "training has gone really well - I’ll be ready to go.â€
When asked if he's returning to Oregon, Cheserek replies, "No comment on that one, too,â€

^^ Yes. -
That is what the linked article mentions. That is news to me. I live in Portland and while there was some rain. It was generally a light, off and on rain. Maybe the meet just had some bad luck of being held right when some hard rain came through. But it also occurs to me that Mt Hood CC is right where the Columbia Gorge starts. The gorge can have weather patterns all of its own, (and generally not for the good). Perhaps they should hold that meet elsewhere in Portland.
And yes, Kerry Eggers is a man. -
Can someone provide a link to the article that actually works

Having actually watched the meet, I can confirm that it was in fact a "driving rainstorm". I was actually shocked that there weren't more scratches. -

For some races.
For others it was nice, but excuses were used by all. -
I wasn't there and don't care if it rained.

Edward Cheserek must be really good at following his coaches' (whoever they may be) authority. He answers very few questions, and I can understand why, as he doesn't want people on these boards to be dissecting his every word, but it's just interesting to see him put up a wall like that and say "I have no comment to that" for everything.
-
Expect to see him shoehorned into the trials at the last minute somehow with his secret US citizenship.

It's not a good sign. Usually when people are outgoing, then later clam up it's a sign that they're falling apart. The same thing has happened to GF, and others. -
was Cheserek ever particularly outgoing? They like him to keep the cards close to his chest and this is the easiest way to go about it. I wouldn't read into it.

GF?

Must mean German Fernandez.
Also, I wouldn't worry too much about this. Ches is clearly just trying to build his professional brand by painting himself as a cool and distant "man of mystery". Quiet, mysterious, unpredictable, a champion...who wouldn't be a fan? -
The King told me he likes Flag the best.

A man that thinks he is a man, or a man that thinks he is a woman?
Has he ever worn a bra? -
Most likely Ches will run XC to try and win a team title there and then go pro skipping his senior track seasons.
He gets the 4 XC titles plus the team title
He sets the record for most NCAA titles
He can focus on training to make the World team for the US if he's a citizen in time. -
Nothing against Ches, I know he isn't American born, but I have to focus really hard to understand what he is saying.
