So for most of my hs indoor and outdoor season I have been running consistently 40 mpw, and just dropped it down to 35 a couple weeks ago when we hit a greater level of intensity in workouts, the drop was planned. But I started to get this shin/calf injury that has happened before last week, so I had to x-train a couple days, and one day I was sick, and we had two invites in which I PRd in one of my events at each meet. Ended up only running 20. Now I'm scared it has messed me up and need advice. After this week there are three weeks left with a big invite, region, and state. What should I do with my mileage to ensure optimal performance at the state meet? (Also I still need to qualify at region, but there is a good chance I will) 800-1600 specialist. I would really appreciate some educated input, (and I know what letsrun is like) thanks.
