You are funny.
He's right. That's why the Diaz brother are good. And if it was a fight with no time limit they'd be undefeated

It goes on and on.....
Those are their weigh in weights. They fight 10-15 pounds above that and walk around 20+ pounds when not fighting and the first 2/3 of training camp

They always talk about Nick being an amazing triathlete, but he appears to be a solid mid-packer at best. He also claimed his $50k tri bike was stolen. Uriah Faber claims to have run a 5:0X mile. I sure the EPO helps though.

Given all the money on MMA nowadays it's a wonder the Japanese aren't dominating it. Either that, or you're living in the past.
Back when it started, kickboxwrestling rules heavily favored wrestlers. It has now evolved to where no particular discipline can dominate it anymore. That's why Saku started losing and had to quit.
Japanese society is big on instruction, not innovation. If you want to be something you have to follow protocol and spend a set time as an apprentice. They like tradition and aren't enterprising enough to be on the cutting edge of new stuff. That's why they always copy American technology.
Anyone who believes kickboxwrestling is less doped than elite track is even more doped, i.e. smoking crack.

How so?
Have you ever tried wrestling all out with someone? ?
Have you ever tried working on a body bag ??
Both of these take some good cardio.

Whether they are mid-packers or not is totally irrelevant to this. The Diaz brothers are well known in MMA for having phenomenal fitness, very few MMA fighters can keep up with their pace and that's how they win fights. That's because, again, 90%+ of MMA fighters have terrible cardio. I wouldn't be surprised about Urijah doing stuff, Alpha Male is full of rumors about PEDs.

b.s. A ton of these fighters gas out in under 5 minutes because they have poor endurance and overall aerobic and anaerobic conditioning. Only solid ones have a good fitness level (e.g. Most of these that come from with a wrestling background).

Have you ever wrestled for 5 minutes? It's a different kind of cardio. I'm not a "wrestler" but I have wrestled...well, army combatives.....it sucks.
Alan
Yes, I agree. I mentioned that at the end there, those coming with a wrestling base tend to have good endurance.

The top MMA fighters are some of the best conditioned athletes in the world, Put an elite distance runner in the ring and let him grapple, take a few fists to the head and kicks to the leg and they'll be looking gassed in less than a round. MMA requires upper body endurance that runners just don't have. Different sports, different skill sets needed.
the Diaz brothers also do a better job of pacing themselves, which is a skill you get from endurance training.
I think a lot of these fighters have decent cardio but they "blow their load" too early going for a ko
new season of Ultimate FIghter.....damn there looks to be almost no depth in the 115lbs women's division. Probably more than half the women fighters had no power at all on their feet and about half had terrible grappling technique in the elimination bouts.
