Apart from the fact that prayers are never answered, yes.

Hyenas take on lions (well, technically lionesses) with only a 2-1 numbers advantage and chase them off their kill. Let's see wild dogs do that with even a 10-1 numbers advantage.
1 vs 1 a wild dog would have no chance against a hyena.
One factoid about hyenas that really surprised me is that they are more closely related to cats than dogs.
Even after reading this thread, I still believe hyenas are the nastiest mammals.

Can't say I have any experience with hyenas but they do seem to be an unsavory lot. I guess for larger animals they would get the nod but for insects the cockroach creeps me out.
Having the opportunity to study the o'possum, I have come 180o on them, they are fascinating creatures and generally completely misunderstood. They are more hated for their looks - hairless tail in particular - but up close once you study them they lose the Quasimodo lack of appeal.

Did you just equate prayer to trolling? Because that would explain oh so much. :)
Garchomp.

Most Badass? Sure.
Nastiest? Don't see it.

Many of the parasitic worms would compete for that title. The WHO is trying to eradicate the Guinea worm, which grows under the skin and then bursts through it like Alien.
This was obviously the best answer. It is truly disturbing watching one break through skin.
However as far as creatures with which I have had personal experience, I would rate the tick and the lamprey eel pretty high.
A previous poster mentioned the hyena. This is an animal that is rated high on the dislike scale. In any nature show, if its inn a confrontation with another animal, I always root against it.
As far as a commonly seen animal that is just plain ugly, that goes to the opossum.

Wiki- Mantis shrimps sport powerful claws that they use to attack and kill prey by spearing, stunning, or dismemberment. In captivity, some larger species are capable of breaking through aquarium glass with a single strike.
You freaking kidding me?!?!
Ummm......house centipede.

How has no one said this? Worst creature in the world.

Normally I'd also support the hyena's adversaries, but in this video against the African Wild Dogs I found myself rooting for the hyenas.
