Good for him. It's not power unless you use it. If the people want a team, pay up. Work a deal like the green Bay residents have with Lambeau field.

Spanos has no power. He is a pawn in the NFL to Goodell, to the other owners, and to any city that he decides do business in. The people of SD are not going to spend any money for him because he does not deserve it. If he moves to LA then the team will flop worse than before because LA fans are not Chargers fans. The only people who actually like the Chargers are in San Diego and they will be gone for the most part if he moves.

What 'power' ? Pro sports players and coaches are temp workers, out-of-towners, itinerants who stick around for a few years then get kicked out of the NFL by a younger prospect. There's no home-town-ness in pro sports. Never will be.
