I'm looking for some help shaking a series of calf injuries that have been plagueing me for the last couple of years.
I first got the injury a couple of years ago during XC season, and it was down to way too much racing, maybe 14-15 times in twelve weeks. I was doing pretty heavy mileage at the time (or at least heavy for me, between 65-75 miles per week), and am sure that just made things worse.
Since then, I've taken time off, done yoga, pilates, cross training in form of weights, rock climbing etc, and I'm still having trouble. I also use a foam roller and stretch, and have the occasional sports massage (as and when I can afford it).
However, even doing all this, I still can't seem to shake my injuries. I can maybe get a few weeks in before they come back with a vengeance. I get anything from shin splints to calf strains, through to tendonitis in my Achilles.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.
