I am 35, male, consistent 2:55 hobby jogging marathon guy, average about 70-75 mpw.
I trained four months for a marathon and was on pace for sub 2:50 goal but was hit by a car (small-town marathon) at mile 21 of the race. I was totally fine (more of an upper body injury, not lower) but it ended my race.
There is a another marathon next week, should I treat last week's marathon as a 21 mile training run and then try again next week? I know I could also wait a few weeks or months and start over, but my wife will likely be giving birth at the end of Devember and at that point, training is going to suffer.
