Long time resident of LRC here, not a friend of anyone involved. As far as I know Rejean is a solid guy who runs 130-150 miles per week to get his results. Normally I would expect that kind of guy to get applause here.
Anyway…I ran the race in question. I was not photographed at Rideau Hall either, despite being placed in the 30-50 range at that point, with lots of space between runners. I was picked up at the other two locations noted and at the finish.
I went into the race having spent the four preceding days in Stowe riding my bike up some big hills with my buddies. As a result, right around Rideau Hall, I started to blow. By the time I hit the Chateau Laurier, I was cramping so badly I stopped dead. After a minute (not sure how long I stopped but let's say over a minute and could have been two), I picked it back up and mailed it in at 4min/km pace.
Point being, if you looked at my results, or my Garmin info, you would see that there would be significant pace variances during the segments you measured out, mostly right around where you think something went down with the person being accused of cheating here.
I am not defending the runner in question, I am simply saying that there may be an explanation, as there was in my case. The explanation may well be that she cheated, but it would at least be nice to let the person in question respond before getting out the flamethrower.
I get that the 4:02 for that particular segment looks suspect, based on the fact that it rolls a lot over that 7.3km and then climbs quite steadily for at least a couple km on Sussex. 4:02 pace on that stretch would suggest to me that you could run well under 4min pace on the flat, which seems to be a stretch based on what others have posted. I assume she is not a sub-20min 5K runner?
