Former accountant here,
If you have any doubts about accounting, get out while you can and major on something else.
I had hesitations about accounting, but figured it would be a great universal business degree and I could always hedge it into something else if I didn't like it. Well, I hated it but couldn't move into anything else because employers are still picky about what they want. Now I'm back in school in something else regretting how I wasted so much time back in my undergrad. You'll find lots of stories like mine - people pursing "marketable" accounting degree, hating their jobs, then getting out and doing something else.
I'll repeat - if you have any hesitations in college, go major in something else or you'll regret it later.
Yes, Yes, Yes...^^^
Get into banking, or HR. If you are going to stick with accounting, do Big 4, get CPA, and find a client you really like and get to know management. Find a small enough company and you may be able to do accounting/operations or accounting/HR or maybe transition to technology or marketing.
So if you don't get out now, you will be stuck in accounting.
