So,
Is there a real difference from the Commonwealth Games , Euro-Champs, or for that matter Pan-Ams. Olympic or World is really the only 2 that matter.

They really do need some transparency in their selection process, I wish they would just adopt the U.S. systemI wish they would just say if you have the standard you can go, if there's more than 3 with the standard then at the national championships top 2-3 w/ the standard can goThere's not reason in just making prediction on who you THINK will make an impact in the championships or who you THINK might make the finals or who you THINK will be a Rio medal contender, it's all speculations and I don't think the UK Athletics official are experts on predictions for the World Championships (let alone all the different events) and bad races don't always cite back formRupp ran 4:00 at the mile in Portland and came back 2 weeks later with a fantastic 10k (27:08 in very sub-optimal conditions, 5th), Centro ran 1:49 in the 800m at Lausanne and came back in Monaco to run 3:30Like Vernon or not, the UKA selection process is screwed upukatheleticscoach- I'm sure you'd agree there needs to be some changes

Don't think he ran there. Are you thinking of Scott Overall?
It is his army of sycophantic angry white British club runners that seem to have given him this sense of entitlement. The ones who believe they should be running the sport because of their 30 minute 10ks and 2.25 marathons like and retweet every detrimental-only-to-his-own-career post he makes. He's their pin-up.

You're thinking of Steve Vernon. They're unrelated.
Steve Vernon went to Butler for a year - different athlete.
Sad that this thread is 4 pages long and counting. And only exists because it is about a truly world class athlete we all know, Mo Farah.
Andy Vernon is not a nice man. I watched his behaviour at this weekend's BMC Grand Prix Final in Solihull (just outside Birmingham, UK) and he was horrible. Whoever said he is the pin-up boy of white Brits running 30min 10ks and 2:25 marathons is right. A little flock of fellow racists who feel uncomfortable with other athletes being better than them and look for any reason to undermine their success.
His tweets give him away as a smug, arrogant self righteous person who goes out of his way to wind people up and revel in it.
Sadly, this kind of thread is just what he hopes will come of his outbursts. No one in the US would have heard of him without his attacks on Mo.
I love athletics and used to be a big Andy Vernon fan. Now, not so much. He is an embarrassment and in danger of becoming something worse that drags British Athletics and it's fans into a very ugly place.

When Farah drags athletics into the toilet for everyone will you still be a fan of the Mobot?
I am more a fan of the MoBot than the doper that is known as Vermin.

What happened there?

You have no clue what you are typing about. Farah is a native Somalian. He is a citizen of the UK. He has a permanent address change to the USA for the sole purpose to avoid paying UK taxes.
Mo Farah's father was born in London, which is in Great Britain for those who don't know. Mo left Somalia at the age of 3.

I just looked up his results from the event, and whatever his behavior, he was fifth in the "A" Heat of the 1500 with a season's best of 3:43.02 (just .04 of his PB). With that kind of cracking result, it's obvious he was left off the team because of animus from Farah.

If Mo moved to Oregon for tax purposes he's an idiot. 49.9% combined Federal and State income tax. What would he pay in the UK?
45% on every £1 made over £150,000

I will concede.
The tax situation with Mo has been greatly exaggerated by the tabloids. He lives in Oregon most of the time and previously had to pay some tax to both the US and UK tax men. By moving out of the UK officially, he just pays one.
The greedy UK tax office likes to take money from people even when that money was made abroad and the person isn't residing in the UK. They also like to tap into athletes' money that they have no right to when foreign athletes compete on UK soil, by helping themselves to money given to foreign athletes, by foreign companies, in foreign countries.
Good for Vernon. He called out Farah for being a spiteful beaotch. And his coach is a door peddler.

This is such a bizarre post. He moved to the USA to join NOP. Once there, he changed his tax residence to the USA because he's not an idiot. Why would he pay income tax to the UK if it's not required?
If you think Farah moved out of England primarily to avoid income tax, Oregon is an exceedingly odd choice, since paying income tax there is no treat. Wealthy European athletes who are trying to minimize their tax bill (such as Paula Radcliffe) often move to Monaco, where there is no income tax.
