This morning I was at my soccer tryouts and I ended up puking on my third lap of the mile. That's right I puked only 3/4 of the way through one mile!! I don't know what would do this to me considering I ran ALL summer on the elliptical at the gym varying anywhere from 2-5 miles and varying resistance but it was never an easy task. I was always left exhausted and dripping sweat. And while on the elliptical I never felt like puking and usually pushed myself harder than I did today. It doesn't make sense. About a half a lap before I puked I started dry heaving, not sure what caused that either. Then the rest of the way I felt like absolutely crap and couldn't finish the mile in the time given which was embarrassing and didn't make much sense considering I am more than capable of running a mile in under 7:30.. Having done such multiple times before. A few facts about me: I am in great shape, I smoked maybe 2-3 times a week over the summer (nothing that would destroy my lungs and haven't smoked in 2 weeks), and this morning before the run I had a pb&j and 160mg of caffeine (pb&j was completely digested because the only thing that I vomited was a bit of water that I drank prior to the run/after I squated). Could the caffeine be the cause of the puke? It was a few hours before the run. Also I may have been a bit dehydrated and I had just squated 185 lbs for 20 reps. Im currently under the impression that the mix of squating RIGHT before the mile along with dehydration and maybe the caffeine caused me to puke. Any opinions? Also any tips on how I can gaurantee a smooth and vomit free run Monday would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
