I've built up to 60mpw this summer. Yesterday my coach had me run 5x1000 with 90 sec rest. Splits were 3:21, 3:19, 3:17, 3:16, 3:12. Felt smooth the whole time.
Last week I ran another workout of 8x600 with 60 sec rest. Splits were 1:53, 1:54, 1:54, 1:53, 1:54, 1:52, 1:52, 1:37. Felt controlled through the first 7 then coach told me to blast the last one.
