Say you're in a relationship with a girl who is great in a lot of different ways and is someone you have a lot of fun with, but she doesn't really support or encourage you... In fact, she even criticizes you for just about everything you do and acts like you're not good enough a lot of the time. Would it make any sense to marry such a girl? Please help me out... I'm really struggling with this right now.
Maybe you have a lot of things to work on, and she is actually encouraging you by pointing them out, supporting you in the sense that you can be better. Thus by staying with her she can help you overcome your laziness and accomplish much more with your life. It's up to you to determine if that's the case or not though.
Why would you marry someone who thinks you have that much to work on? Every couple has a few things they need to work out, but if your girlfriend has so many problems with you that she's constantly complaining, then maybe she needs to move on to someone she doesn't have so many issues with. I wouldn't want to marry someone who dislikes everything about me.

That's fine as long as you're satisfied falling short.
