Plus if you don't go to med school you'll have a garbage degree.
This here. Disclosure first- I have a BS and MS in Kinesiology and am starting my PhD this fall. A BS kinesiology degree is WORTHLESS alone. Here's my short take:
Pros- The core classes will probably interest you more than classes in other departments. 400 level classes with help you in med school by having learned the material already, i.e. neural basis of human movement, advanced physiology, etc. You will probably have various genetics, microbio, and chemistry courses outside of the required med school pre-reqs that will help well round you.
Cons- You will have to take a lot of bogus classes. Exercise psych, sport sociology, and 100/200 level kin courses are a waste. Most of those courses will be grade padders, but you still have to do them.
Another issue I had is that there is not enough problem solving in Kin, it is all memorization. In my masters I took a few engineering courses and it's an entirely different mindset. For me one of the most impactful courses I took in undergrad was actually sport sociology because the professor was a very intense old dude that made us dig into research articles and analyze and write essays. First course that taught me to read and write at an upper level.
Another issue with kin is summer opportunities. All my engineering friends were off with internships making lots of money and building their resumes while I was either volunteering in labs or working at a running store. Since you are wanting to go to med school I assume you will be looking into your CNA, EMT, or various hospital positions you can get; but in regard to internships it can be much more difficult with a kin major.
Hope this helps a little bit.
