10/10 on the trolling.
Hilarious. My favorites: Oregon commit because the coach emailed you once. Also, "Do I have to apply or do I just get in because I'm on the team?" -- I laughed hard at that one. Also, not applying to college until August the day they start? I'm surprised nobody else said something about that. School starts in a couple weeks. People already have their class schedules!
Throw on top that the OP should be a college-bound 18yo but has no obvious expectation that college is a serious commitment where classes come first and you choose your professional life. Awesome. Kind of like how my life went, to be truthful.
In case the OP were not a troll (because I admit that 18yo boys are as clueless as I was at that age), this much is obvious: You probably shouldn't go to a 4-year college right away. Go to community college, run competitively, win a couple small road 5K races. Figure out what you want to do with your life, and pick your next school (real 4-year school) based on your professional goals. If you are still committed to running competitively, pick a school where you are welcome to join the team. If you do it right, the coach will be excited to have you. Oh, and work on your 800. 2:03 is poor for a 4:29/9:44 runner.
