The weight stuff is stupid, and doesn't help them at all.
Evidence of your claim? They seem to have a fair amount of success as a group. More than others one might even argue.

thats 105# total. weak sauce.
lol even more at what he does with those six plates. We're not talking cleans or CNJ. He's doing 1-leg isolation QUARTER SQUATS. Not close to parallel. Can he even bench the bar?
Pathetic, even for a distance runner. 85 pound female gymnasts can do better than that.
My thoughts. Is it possible that you only saw part of the workout and not the entire thing? Is it possible that your ideas about lifting for a 5K/10K runner are not all that intelligent, and theirs actually produces the desired results? They are racing PRE on Friday so it makes sense that they are not exactly looking to set high marks in the weight room, no?
Just my thoughts, but you are probably right, your approach to weights for distance runners is more effective.
Hardly recognized Rowbury without her caked on makeup and atrocious red lipstick
I don't even know where to start. The "squats" are with girly weights, don't appear to be going to parallel and he doesn't rest at the bottom position, basically uses the "bounce".
These guys are wasting their time.
I have to say I appreciate that Galen and Mo are bringing the Olympic medals home to the US (even though Mo is originally Eritrean, but whatever). However, I have to admit that I prefer my guys with a bit more muscle. Nothing to much but nice biceps/pecs etc, the usual...

So... Mo isn't bringing ANY medals home to the U.S. because: his nationality is British. Oh yeah, and his background is Somali, not Eritrean.
Good job to Galen, though.

Yeah...totally wasting their time. No success with any of the methods (running, lifting, etc) out of that group. There are cross-fit websites. You can post in their forums to feel better about yourself and pastimes. This might sound crazy, but runners like to do things that allow them to run faster. Crazy concept.

Writing on Letsrun about people wasting their time is like Al Gore flying around the world to lecture about climate change.
Has anyone an idea which sleep tracking device they use? Maybe some Garmin stuff? Mo is wearing a Garmin instead of the Nike-GPS...

My understanding is that Nike has stopped pushing the Nike+ GPS watch and will focus on their platform instead. Expect an announcement next week at Apple's WWDC on a Apple Watch Nike+ standalone app.
The moment the next generation Apple Watch (with GPS) comes out, it's all about the Software and the platform.
this is the sleep monitor they use:
