Poor children.

LETSRUN: GET ON THIS NOW!!!!
Nothing better than watching a hobby jogger get REAMED for his own stupidity.

I meant to mention that Lehigh does not have any intermediate split mats on course - just start line and finish line.
That's the way the Towpath marathon is in Ohio also. They caught I guy cheating two years ago and still have not placed more mats on the course its a figure eight in the woods.
They should have mats at each turn around
But at least they followed up with Boston and had the cheater Kevin Goodman disqualified.
While I'm all for a good hazing, are we sure he didn't get a charity bib or corporate bib for Boston?
Questions about his cheating were deleted off his blog and then he switched the blog to invite-only. His Twitter is still up.
He's bib 8229. He cheated his way into Wave 2, Corral 1.
Start by reaching out to his local paper. If he is a D-Bag most likely his small town already knows it and would love the chance to put him back in his place. Who did he send that letter to within the school district? I'm sure they would love to respond with their own letter regarding cheating and raising your kids better....
3:11:45 is 7:19 pace. According to his Athlinks profile the only races he has held a quicker pace were a handful of 5ks and one 5 miler. Even then he never ran sub-7:00 pace. 7:41 pace for a 1/2 marathon. I think he cheated.
These narcissists all seem to have a fatal flaw; they don't know when to stop. It's not enough to cheat your way into Boston; you have to keep a blog, make personalized shirts, and post your race on YouTube. Then the principal calls you on your kids being absent from school, and you have to publically post your reply and do interviews on TV. These narcissists can't help themselves. It's a weird combination of an inflated ego and poor self-esteem, with a dose of stupid for not thinking they'll get caught in their lies.

You guys seriously need to get a life.
You are telling us to get a life because we are scrutinizing a guy who wrote a condescending letter to his childs school principal (who was following administration policy) and had it shared on social media?
This man is an attention whore and anyone who writes that their child learned more at the Boston Marathon than they did in "an entire year of school" is delusional and arrogant.
He wanted fame and it wouldn't surprise me if he was also a cheater to get that oh so important BQ.
Guys, it's not like he ran in front of some Kenyan for the win. He brought some great attention to the race and the sport. If we had more stories like the one involving him and his kids, running would be more important to the masses.
Don't listen to the haters, Mike

I'm not so sure. If daddy is exposed as a cheater on the Internet, their children might very well learn more from this experience than from an entire school year.
Haters gonna hate, hate, hate , hate, hate

And why should I care about that?
This doesn't surprise me at all. When I read his letter to the school all I could think of was he must have been on a trip when his school taught commas. His children need school because he sure isn't going to teach them anything academically.
I hang myself out there as a blogger with all my run details, but nothing like this guy. Just watched his YouTube video and I'm not getting it. The video makes it sound like he WON the Boston Marathon, or crawled out of a hospital bed to run the marathon (that's my story, but I didn't post some sappy video about merely running the Boston Marathon.) Story sounds fishy on the Lehigh qualifier. The principle took hell for the letter which turned out to be a template letter sent out (at least that's what I've heard,) not the personal attack on his endeavor or kids. Loving this story that won't die.
There won't be enough evidence to prove he cheated at Lehigh. He could always just say everything fell into place and he had the race of his life and you can't really prove otherwise.
However, often the case with these narcissists is that being "nearly" caught somehow isn't a deterrent against future cheating attempts. Here's to hoping he wants to return to Boston, and slips up a little more this time around.
Dude blocked me after I questioned him on twitter.
Touchy!

Love it.
Nope, the letter was all about him. How he overcame injury, bad weather, a death in the family, ad nauseum. Hey, I ran Boston 2015 while injured too and just lost a family member, and I actually put in the work to qualify legitimately, should I start a blog about it and expect my kids' school not to send a form letter because I took them out of school for 3 days?
Mike owes the principal a public apology. Too bad she'll never get it.
