Bruce Jenner has reportedly stopped production on an E! documentary series that would chronicle his transition into a woman, both TMZ and Variety have reported.
Sources tell TMZ that the former Olympian felt producers were rushing him and his family by pushing for a May air date. Jenner, who was married to Kardashian family matriarch Kris Jenner, said he wants to make sure his three sons are psychologically ready to handle his transformation.
While E! never officially confirmed such a series was in development, Variety is reporting the series is now on hold.
Jenner was also shaken by being in multivehicle crash in Malibu last month. A woman in another vehicle was killed after Jenner struck her vehicle from behind, and Jenner is still trying to deal with the emotional impact of that event, TMZ said.
Jenner has long been the subject of media speculation about whether he is on the verge of announcing he is a transgender woman.
Jenner is scheduled to appear in the new season of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," which premieres March 15, an executive producer told USA Today. And, a planned interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer is still in the works, TMZ said.
