Someone could snag $15k if they are the only one to break the course record in the half (1:09/1:18). That's a nice payday for a half. I'm going to assume this is going to attract regional sub-elite/elite runners and multiple times will be under the record and share the prize purse. Cool to see this once little race grow the sport regionally by supporting its athletes and attracting some bigger names.
