cannabis has never improved someone's spirituality/perspective?
the medical community (science) has found enough reason to legalize cannabis as a method of treatment and pain prevention, why cite pseudoscientists representing organizations with anti-drug agendas?
are you aware of the differences in potency, strand type, and intake method or are we just lumping it all together as the same?
also curious to hear your views on alcohol, caffeine, prescription medicine (particularly opiates), etc?
and lastly, is your perusing/posting on letsrun all day a "simple pleasure of the flesh," or "striving for excellence in god's domain?"
Q1- No. Marijuana might give you an outside and unearned glimpse of spiritual enlightenment, but the cruel irony of it is that you can never achieve that mode of being in a lasting manner with marijuana. Doing a drug isn't to suddenly transform you into a zen master. Lol. Some "artistes" like to pot out and stroke their unkempt chin hair or flail at a guitar, sure. But compare a fool like Billy Idol to Bach, or Franzen and his lewd, drab, drivel to the wisdom Thoreau (a known ascetic). It's not even close. Drugs have impoverished us.
Q2- As far as I can tell, almost no one in the medical community supports using pot for medicinal reasons. Pro-pot propaganda might have them curious about its benefits, but the evidence does not exist.
Q3- All the same. Except smoking it will give you cancer, in addition to all the other problems it will cause.
Q4- I support coffee in moderation. I don't drink. Prescription medicine, a.k.a. DRUGS, are dangerous in households and a huge problem.
Q5- I fail to see how engaging people in thoughtful, evidence-based discussion is somehow indulging in shallow, physical pleasure.

Marijuana does not cause hallucinations.
Millions of people in the U.S. use pot socially or medically. Very few become heroin users.
Marijuana is not a physically addictive narcotic.
Verily is ignorant, plain and simple. Hey Verily, spark up a doobie if you want to know anything about weed. Do your research, bro.
You're not the sharpest tool in the shed are you.
Sarcasm bro.
Spoken like a typical pot user

Missed this.
Yes. How many people get high and then masturbate? Pretty much every stoner I've ever met was also a Kleenex brand preferred customer. Pot increases and (because of the altered state of consciousness) twists the sexual drive. Look at our prisons. Over 50% of the inmates are there on drug possession charges. In this environment, homosexual rape occurs at a vastly higher rate than it does in the real world. Is there any question as to why this is?? In just my family alone, both my cousin and his father have both been arrested for sexual assault. Other than sharing 50% of the same genetic material, virtually the only thing those two had in common was regular marijuana use. The sexual assault rate in Oregon is about to skyrocket, I'll tell you that much.
So is "Verily" an 85 year old? That is fine, but that would explain some of the odd ball views and language.
I have an uncle about that age. Good man, but still refers to black people as "colored". Probably shares the same views of MJ. Thinks same sex marriage will be the end of the country. When you are that old I give people a pass on outdated views like this, but if you are under 60, no way.

I admit you had me. I fell for your excellent trolling. Congratulations. Other letsrun trolls could learn a lot from you. Well done, sir.
Apparently, asserting an opinion that is unpopular makes one a "troll". Yet no one has offered any decent argument or evidence disprove me.
"Well musicians do it! It makes them creative"...Musicians typically spend their entire lives in poverty doing nothing other than making noise on some sort of wooden or brass apparatus, too, but you don't see too many people imitating them on that front, now do you?
"But the cartels!".... would be broke if people didn't insist on ruining their lives with drugs, and make most of their money through cocaine anyway. You want to legalize that, too?
"But it's no more dangerous than alcohol"... which destroys how many lives each year??
It's "progressive", I get it. But for what sake and at what cost?
What's so great about having money? So what if musicians are in poverty(not all are)? They are doing what they want to do with their lives.
All I know is if pot were legal in my state, I'd be all over it. I would easily quit the alchohol and light it up everyDAY!
Well, I tried one... I'm now sitting in a jail cell.

He's probably gotten out of jail - since he posted that almost seven years ago.
Weed is like rock-climbing.
It should probably be legal.
It might be worth doing.
One can definitely be more cautious.
But as for safety.............
The whole reason we do Weed is because weed is NOT safe.
NO, NO, NO- not safe.
Weed messes with your mind.
That is why you do it!!!!
The negative consequence of this is that weed aggregates all kinds of mental illnesses.
Many people's lives are destroyed by bi-polar, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.
Many people would have escaped these problems if they had avoided weed.
High concentrate THC, low CBD- engineered garbage is making the problem worse.
We are at the beginning of a huge mental health crisis.
You like weed??
That's fine!!!
But be a grown up and take responsibility for the risks.
