But obviously accents are connected to more blue-collar groups that stick within their communities. Every region in the US has somewhat of an accent but in general I find news reporters, athletes, and celebrities, etc to just have a normal American accent i.e. “no accent.” In college, I had friends from the northeast, Midwest, and west coast and only rarely ever noticed a distinct accent on someone.
