For me it probably has to be the Cajun accent.
Thoughts anyone?

You ever meet a sweet little cowgirl? A beautiful country girl can make that southern accent sexy as hell.
New England. McDougal destroyed the New Hampshire fairies.
Minnesota/Wisconsin
I'm from there and it drives me crazy.
any with a drawl
and ... the one that says "hackey" for "hockey," and "dakter" for "doctor."
Pittsburgh.
Sounds dumb, lazy, and uneducated.
(and I'm from there).
1. Nebraska's nasally accent
2. Bronx
3. Maryland faux-country
I kinda like Bahstahn accents.
Industrial Baltimore. Weird truncations, mumbling, and the flattest of consonants.
Those that produce wash as "worsh" as in "Worshington".
RE: What is the most annoying american accent?
The American one.
The New Hampshire accent and its stench of superiority.
Providence. It's different from Boston. It sounds like Elmer Fudd.
Minnesota, Chicago, Cleveland, Milwaukee, and Detroit have the most ear grating annoying accents.
The Swedes and Poles that settled heavily in those cities are probably the reason.
southern accent is greatest accent in the world...hands down....NYers sounds like BS from the time open their months...truth or not

That's a crapful list. Which Boston accent? Southie or Brahmin? Do you even know the difference? Which Southern accent? Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Tennessee? And what is so annoying about a Chicago or Minnesota accent? Both seem very friendly to me.
1. Philly
2. Being from Boston, this hurts, but Boston white trash accents are horrific. On women, it is pathetic.
3. Long Island next. Brooklyn / Queens people get a pass for authenticity. But In the burbs there is no excuse to talk like a moron. (Same to Jersey suburbanites).
Picking on Southerners does not seem fair. I read a great book ( "The Story of English") which explains the origins of most Scots/Irish dialects in the Southeast, pretty fascinating. Several Virginia dialects are quite close to Elizabethan pronunciations when you break it down. But I think the song "Freedom 'Ain't Free" in the movie Team America is the final word on Southern accents.
Boston (& vicinity) is by far the worst accent. Verbal diarrhea.
Ebonics.
