Let say CU will win the team title in XC this year, will the NCAA give CU some money for winning? And if so, how much?

My guess is that the NCAA will NOT give the team money as It is most likely illegal to do so. However, I am sure that the winning xc team will get a healthy sum of money from their own institution / boosters / donors.
Good question, but usually teams get money for nationals but not for winning.
The NCAA just covers cost of travel for teams at national championships.
Sports like basketball and football get big pay outs for going to bowls or advancing in the NCAA tournament because the tournament has major TV deals and are making profit off of the school being there. However, schools do not get paid more or less for winning or loosing once they make it to a championship.
But what I have noted from being successful on the track. Athletic Directors like winners. They prefer the wins come on the football field, but when anyone is winning they look good. So most the times coaches get bonuses for winning. Also, although not written anywhere, extra money becomes easier to come by. If you want a little more money in the budget or new equipment, there is usually less of a fight when you are winning.
