Anyone have experience with the new 980 foam?

wondering if these would be a good marathon shoe and/or long run shoe?

It's a comfortable lightweight neutral trainer. I have a pair and like them. They're worth considering if that's the kind of shoe you're looking for.
I'm currently rotating them with the Kinvara and Adidas Energy Boost for easy runs. They're fine for long runs. I wouldn't race in them, but they would be fine for that if you prefer a light trainer to a a flat for racing.
More opinions-
If you haven't used shoes with a lower heel-to-toe drop, I'd be cautious about starting the 980's on long runs. That being said, I've been using those types of shoes for over a year and I have used my 980's on both workouts and long runs. It's not as soft as advertised and there isn't anything truly remarkable about the futuristic design it's trying to advertise. However, it's still a good trainer and the outsole seems to be very durable. Just be aware of New Balance's narrower toe boxes (but you can get width's easily so it's not a huge problem).
