Wow, interesting stat... I wonder if any other event has three ARs held by athletes of the same birth country?
Michael Johnson knew what he was talking about.
"As most Afro-Jamaicans originated from West Africa, Bolt is most probably a descendant of the Akan, Igbo, Fon or Kongo people, or a mixture of these ethnic groups. These ethnic groups are commonly found in countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon and Congo."
Congo is not in West Africa but Central Africa,I do understand your point
though. If you take a generation as 25yrs,I'll say that Bolt is West African
8 generations removed.
He might not be a pure west african though as they tended to blend with the natives.
But remember guys: This has nothing to do with genetics.
All of you who think that genetics are a real factor in athletics are stupid. Like, REALLY stupid. And probably racist too. For even thinking such a thing.
This is because of the special sprinting culture in west-Africa. And motivation.
And besides, all of Asia's top talent is in ping-pong and cricket. Think of the times they would run if they had the MOTIVATION to sprint!!
Michael Johnson is a moron, plain and simple.
Fasuba's 9.85 was bogus, anybody who knows about sprinting knows this. You can search for it on this board, where I and others have detailed why it was bogus.
Fredericks is the fastest African competing for an African country at 9.86 (-0.7).
Also, I was the one who on this board detailed the historical exploits and present native talent of Nigerian sprinters, and who has warned the ROW that they are coming, and who described how Greene was now being used to help coach them.
It was also I who lauded Ogunode before any of this happened. You can also look that up on the board.
Unlike lpd, whose only interest is himself and whose only critical paradigm is that of race, there are others of us on this board who are more than just one-liners.
Ogunode isn't Asian, and for me this "record", isn't. OTOH had he been born there, or raised there for a significant part of his life, the situation would be different, or if he was ethnically Asian and just happened to be born, raised, and living in Nigeria.
So-called "continental" records are lame, just another way to divide people.
Ignore lpd and his racist drool.
As far as the fastest untainted historic 100m times go, Ogunode is now up there in unadjusted times with Marsh, P. Johnson, Williams, Ashmeade, and KBC.

Even more lame are the US invented medal counts. Bronze, Silver and Gold all carry the same value of one. Absolutely lame.
Listen Springeezer,it was not I or any black that made race an issue
in this country. It was whites who made the Dred Scott decision, who
instituted Jim Crow, who went on live broadcast and said blacks do
no have the necessities, who wrote Bell Curve. So,if blacks feel they
are superior in Sports they should shout it from the rooftops.Whites
certainly tell us everyday how they are superior.

Funny thing about that.Areas where whites outperform blacks, whites claim
it has to do with genetics.Areas where blacks outperform whites such as in
sports, whites say it has nothing to do with genetics.
Running both sprinting and distance running has everything to do with genetics.

Such as?
You are a one-liner loser.
I had a long response written to you, but I deleted it because you're just not worth it.

Anybody want to talk some athletics?
Sprintgeezer, have you ever heard of the author of the 'Bell Curve' ,Al Campanis,Phillip Rushton,Thomas Jefferson. All white men claiming
white superiority.
.
If Hamza Driouch ever make a comeback Qatar will have a nice international track contingent, even if Barshim seems to be the only native.
lpd: "Listen Springeezer,it was not I or any black that made race an issue in this country."
That's where you are exactly wrong.
FOR ME, IT WAS YOU AND OTHERS LIKE YOU WHO MADE RACE AN ISSUE IN THE USA.
I'm not from the USA, I don't have your baggage. I came to this country, and brought an external perspective.
FOR ME, it WAS you and others like you who have made race an issue.
THAT is what you don't understand.
Ignoring your copious spelling and grammatical errors, your post shows that you are cloistered, and emotionally stunted.
You don't understand that the world is a lot bigger than just the USA and its history. You cherish your failures, past and present, because you don't look to others for any perspective, to find possible directions in which to develop your life. You are totally self-referential. Unsurprising, as most Americans have never even left their home state, let alone the country.
But still totally disappointing.
Do you understand what I'm saying? In one sense, innocence is ignorance--but in another, it is purity. There are only so many things to which one can apply oneself in life, and at some point in your life you get enough perspective to be able to make judgments on whether or not certain things are worth your time, relative to other things you might be doing or thinking about.
You, and others like you, have essentially forced me to think in a way that I judge is totally unworthy of my time, and you remind me of it in every single post. There are so many other, better ways to think about things, and you would know that, if you had any life other than the meager one you have. It is so very sad.
Furthermore, you have forced it not only upon myself, but upon every other innocent, most notably children. You are so enveloped in your own moral certitude that you are incapable of conceiving any other options.
In short lpd, you're not too bright, and it shows. I resent the fact that you infect these boards with your no-brow garbage; I resent the fact that I even have to look at your moniker, and think about what it represents.
You make every place that you similarly infect, a craphole. Congratulations. Maybe some day you will grow up and realize it.
Today, it is YOU who are the problem.
You are not alone in this:

Now let's see....
Blessing Okagbare competes in the African Championships and the Commonwealth Games, winning both.
Femi Ogunode competes in the Asian Games.
Not to be confused with Francis Obikwelu ("Portugal") who won the European Championships a decade ago.
THEY'RE ALL FROM THE SAME COUNTRY (Nigeria)!
The problem is with the Europeans that wrote the rules that allow this to happen.
