Yea, that's an example of creativity...but not unlike a stupid dream.

Nas is to the rap world like caviar is to the food world or like surrealism is to art. Those that are really into it swear it's so great and that you need to have a certain sophistication to appreciate it. However, to the rest of us it just seems overrated.
My favourite rap lyrics and rapper of all time.
RAKIM - Microphone fiend
"I was a fiend, before I became a teen
I melted microphones instead of cones of icecream
Music orientated, so when hip-hop was originated
Fitted like pieces of puzzles, complicated."
That there is ART.
That's me done on this question.

I agree it's not hard to rap BUT it's extremely difficult to become a master at it, in my opinion it's harder then being a good singer because most musician don't even write there own lyrics now days (not like the old days) so if you have a good writer then it's easy to become successful, just like rihanna, taylor swift and diana ross all have/had quality writer behind them.
You're confusing singers with lyricists.
Being a good singer has nothing to do with being a good lyricist, and one's ability to write lyrics has no relevance in a discussion of a singer's ability.
I said I was done on this question but i have to reply

I couldn't agree more, i never said a singers ability is anything to do with how their lyrics are that's why i used the term musician when relating to that, but having a good lyricist behind you will enhance a singers success.
No lyrics don't have relevance in a singer's ability, BUT it does in a rappers that why i said in my opinion it's harder to be a master at rapping because they get judged on delivery and lyrics they wrote whereas a singer the majority of the time only needs a good voice because a good songwriter can make them into a legend like motown did with diana ross.
But if someone else writes your lyrics in the rap industry you get ripped into for it (Dr Dre best example).
In my opinion, Rapping is not music to begin with and to say someone is overrated in this genre is simply stupid. They are all over rated. Jay-Z needs to get over himself. It's all nonsense.
