Jay Z calls Eminem the most overrated rapper of all time

I agree that Em's last few albums have been between mediocre and horrible, but his mixtape stuff is insane. Em just isn't a studio rapper, he's a street rapper with mad flow. No way Jay could rap even a half circle around Em without getting knocked the eff out.

Switch the names and it's more accurate

I really don't care about rap. JayZ and Em both have their own unique style.

Em is the quicker, angrier rapper who finds a way to rap when he is on some angry rant about his mom, dad, or ex-wife.

Jayz is totally different but he does what he does as well as Em does what he does. If had to be tied down to listen to an entire rap CD I would definitely go for Eminem. At least there would be a couple jokes I could laugh at.

Eminem is an artist. Probably not very business oriented. Jayz was probably business oriented first before he crafted his arr.

At least there would be a few likes I relate to.

Jay-Z is terrible. His rapping is like a child teasing another with variations of their last name.

That's a satirical website. I mean, it's horrible and not funny, so I can see why people would mistake it for the real thing, but there you have it.

I agree Eminem peaked a few years ago, but he is definitely one of the greatest. Not the greatest, but somewhere in the top-5; you can't sale that many records and be horrible. Nothing new about JZ's comments, rapper always dog each other.

Everyone please remember overrated does not mean you are bad. Sqme crap happens with Mo Farah. Eminem is an amazing rapper. He is not nearly as good as his fan boys make him out to be. If Em is the 5th best rapper ever and all these fan boys and the media keep saying he is the best ever he is overrated. End of story.

Also, I love Jay z but I don't think he could rap circles around Em.

People like Eminem because he developed a strong connection with his fans. It's not all about who is a better rapper, it's also about the message in the music. Em is at heart a very good person, and if you follow the arc of his life through his music, it follows a very touching story.

It's like Lance Armstrong. He was so famous because of his STORY. It was not about the 7 tours. It was the story, about beating cancer and coming back. Everyone loves an underdog story. It's a lot like Eminem.

They have great managers. I guess you have to. have you ever heard them speak? My 9 year old cousin is more engaging and has better conversation skills them combined.

Yeah, I agree. Obviously Beyonce is gorgeous which when it comes to female vocalists is actually more important than the actual singing capability. Her singing is not bad, but hardly spectacular. And Jay-Z is quite average as a rapper. And yes, they are annoying, don't and seem self-obsessed especially with getting attention. Not evil people or anything, but somewhat immature and self-focused. But lots of famous people are like this. JLo, Mariah Carey, Katherine Heigel, etc. - after years of getting so much praise and attention they think they deserve it.
