Actually he'd add about 10m for the last 3 turns but subtract about 15m on the 1st turn where he was supposed to be in lane 6.

If he actually run the whole thing in lane 2 that is.

He also missed Worlds last year, when the competition DID mean something. He wasn't at full capacity, clearly, because he spent a very significant amount of time prior to this season injured, and really only started his serious training in March.

On another note, does anyone know what's been going on with Aman?

He really hasn't been doing so well based on his past performances.

You're right, I watched it again and Rudisha was only in lane 3 twice. First time obviously when he crossed it coming in from his starting lane, the other was in the last 30 meters when Souleiman came charging in lane 4.

Rudisha in fact spent 99 % of the race just on the outside of lane 1. Obviously still not perfect but far from talking about lane 3. What's the point in sensationalising stuff like that

Everyone expected (who wouldn't) Rudisha to lead behind Tangui. His not doing really screwed up the race for others, especially in a big field, who based their own plans on this tactic.

What was Kiprop doing? He was never able to get outside to move past the group, as did Rudisha - even though it meant expending energy that affected him in the last 50m.

look, you're supposed to be talking about the winner, not the wash-up. Yes, rudisha ran from behind because going for it would have cost him the win. Bosse really accelerated between 600-700m, and Amos went with him whereas rudisha didn't. David rudisha has been "recovering" the whole season. At this point, if he's really as good as he was, he should win. He didnt. Rudisha is a has been just like kaki and aman, but a really historic and dominant has been. Why has amos (who may end up being a has been) come back from tearing a hamstring so eloquently whereas rudisha has seemed to have an eternal injury (which doesn't exist with stress fractures, I know because I got one) I called this one.

It's true, I watched it live and again at the link above and Rudisha ran in lane 2 for most of the race and on the outer edge of lane 2 for final bend. He may have stepped on the line between lanes 1 and 2 at one point, but that was as inside as he ever got.

Good analysis. That's pretty much what I came up with. I got 9.5m and 1:42.7, but I'm not going to quibble over 0.5m. Lol. It could be give or take a metre.

He also got v little drafting, certainly no more than about 50m, so you could conservatively take off another couple of tenths. Probably worth around 1:42.4, which isn't bad for someone whose only about 85%!

Hope he gets a good winter' training and shows the other's whose Boss ( pardon the pun) next year. Such a humble and great role model for the sport.

highly doubt ,other ways to get endurance up before

hit circuit but still never be as good as GW50 .
