I am 6'1 around 190 pounds 4 weeks to a marathon, fastest 13.1 was 1:29 but I wasn't training for a 13.1 training for a triathlon. Strictly running now, was running around 40 MPW just finished 68 MPW this week.
Am I too heavy? Visually I am lean

Your weight does not really matter. A 1:29 guy 50 pounds less does not have a real advantage compared to you when the race gets longer...
You are a 1:29 runner. That's normally not enough to run 3:05.
If you stop training for triathlon and just run for the next few weeks you should lose some pounds. Then, weight loss matters. If you can lose 10 pounds without starving yourself etc, you have a chance.
Sorry left out some details, ran the 1:29 last year when I was training for an Ironman, this year just mainly running.
Your probably right a 1:29 half guy can't typically run a 3:05 marathon, but I have upped my running mileage this year so I am gonna roll the dice
Just wonder if anyone at 6'1 190 has ever run a 3:05 or under marathon
You really shouldn't be flashing your tri credentials on LRC.
Remember, runners hate triathletes.
6'1 190 isn't heavy, but isn't lean either. Dropping 6-8 lbs over the next 2 weeks will probably help
Thanks, yeah wasnt intentionally flashing tri cred just wanted to give some background on endurance racing. But I hear ya lol
Yeah I will just watch what I eat and I am sure with the additional running I will shed some pounds
How huge of a narcissist do you have to be to not think anybody your weight hasn't run faster than a 3:05. Jesus, the world record is a freakin' HOUR faster.

Last year I ran a 1:29 half marathon race en route to running a 2:54 full marathon at the end of my training. Yes, it is possible.
Dude you need to adjust your MEDs. Life ain't that serious.

Thx yeah I figured, just wanted to hear others experiences thx
I have no idea what this is supposed to mean. Does anybody have a narcissist-to-english dictionary?

I personally know several dudes that have run sub-3 at 190+. Of course it's possible. There's actually a really beefy guy that is now "down" to 180 and just ran 2:34 last year. I don't know how he does it, but he does.
Do you find it difficult to confront people in real life so you troll boards to confront people on the internet to feel adequate?
Sad existence
"Mom the meatloaf!"

Cool thx, I don't know many people who run marathons that's why I came here to ask the experts
