I will be heading to Spokane soon. While there want to run some trails. I saw online Bowl and Pitcher at Riverside. Are there good running trails leading from Bowl and Pitcher?

Don't know about specifics, but Spokane is still part of the desert. If you want good running trails you'll need to head east of town towards Post Falls and CDA. It's a bit of a drive, but you'll actually be in the mountains then. Spokane is a pretty crappy city (which is unfortunate since it's the only decent sized one anywhere close to me). Also, don't run at night inside the city. You could get jumped by "teens" or "youths" if you know what I mean.
There's a great set of trails just below the west edge of the South Hill section of town that overlook Latah (or Hangman) Creek.
Unfortunately, Spokane (like most cities) has paved over the best rail-trails for running. The ex-Union Pacific railbed southwest from town was a great running trail with a natural gravel surface leading out to Fish Lake and beyond, but now that's all paved over. Not sure about the ex-SP&S line southwest of Cheney - it was still a natural gravel/sand surface a few years ago. Even if it is still unpaved, I think you have to have a Discover Pass from the State Park dept to access it *legally*.
Not sure where it was but I did a 20 mile run there on some of the best trails I ever ran. I recall going across a footbridge over a river or large creek (it was prob 20 years ago now so hard to remember). Are those trails no longer there?
I don't know what the others are talking about here, but I moved to Spokane 20 years ago after living in Eugene and Portland, and NOTHING compares to the trails going to and from the bowl and pitcher. It is not the desert...the only concern is getting lost because of the randomness of trails. These trails are seriously some of the best running I have ever had in my life - and there's something like 15,000 acres in the entirety of Riverside State Park.
You won't have any trouble finding trails. Cross the footbridge by the Bowl and Pitcher and just follow the trail along the river. But make mental notes of the trails, because you can get lost! You will not regret this run...
Thanks lax. I will take your advice.
There are some awesome trails around Liberty Lake.
