I live in a region with wet and frigid cold winters, yet I still try to stack as many miles as I can during the winter. I also have a condition called Raynaud's syndrome which causes for very poor circulation and pain in my fingers and toes. I always run in huge, goofy skiing gloves which get the job done for my fingers, but I can't figure out the toes.
I haven't bought a pair of the GTX/shield shoes simply because I'm cheap and think that I can just tough out the winter miles, but I think I'll definitely try a pair this year.
I'm a neutral runner and I generally wear Saucony, are there any brands that do the waterproofing better than others? I know brooks, nike, saucony and probably others make them. Also if you've tried them, are they actually worth it?
