Probably is... Keep running and it will probably get sharp then 6 months before you are back to "normal." Sorry but your insticts are probably right...
GOD DAMNIT. are you serious?? what does the initial pain from stress fractures feel like?? it's dull though, and not at one point.! omfg that would suck SO MUCHHHHH
The only way you can tell if you have a stress fracture or not is if you run on it until you simply can't endure the pain anymore. I had spotty soreness for about a week and half until finally I went on a run and had to walk back. It gets exponentially worse.
I've had this soreness for a few weeks. It doesn't actually hurt any more when I run. It hurts if I go barefoot in the house. I've continued running (up until Sunday) then will maybe think about resting it. Anyway, have you tried icing it a few times a day? I don't think it will hurt.
DEAR GOD. could it just be because i have old shit shoes?
Guess the first thing would be to take a few days off and get rid of the old shit shoes. I really hope that's all it takes. Good luck.
hate to say it, but that sounds exactly like the pain i had in my foot last year which was a stress fracture. dull, felt like it warmed up as i ran, until one day i tried to run on it and it just killed. had the pain for no more than 4 days total, and the bone scan came back positive. if you get off it early and use a bone stimulator, you can be back on a modified (every other day) runnign plan within 3 weeks.

I've had stuff like this before and it's always from sore/tight arches. Roll your foot over a golfball and massage your arch. Also, ditch the shoes if they're old. Try this and take a day off, then try running. If this doesn't take care of it then it's probably not from your arches.
yeah i'm taking today off, and getting new shoes. i'll see how grass feels in the next couple of days. It felt ok today..
