The only real question that was missed was "why did you think you were going to get away with it?" Didn't he know that WADA can test for EPO?

Rojo's questions were fine.
The most bothersome part of this story is that he got caught at the airport, not via a failed test. Not surprised by this, but it just reiterates the point that passing tests does not equate to being clean.
Exactly. It's not mysterious "gray area" PEDs that allow people to run fantastic times. It's the same old EPO that people have learned how to use and beat the tests.
Every country, every continent.
Is trafeh the highest ranking US male ever to be caught for drugs?
He and Helleybuyck are in that B-B+ area. Still never an A lister male caught, right?
Seems fair to say that he is the biggest catch all around since regina jacobs.
This is one way proves an important point.
A lot of people attack 'late bloomers' as dopers. If you weren't a high school phenom you must be doping.
This is useful because it shows high school phenoms dope too.

You must be talking only distance? Tyson Gay, Justin Gatlin, Lashawn Merritt all come to mind if not.
er...rather - is trafeh the highest ranking male us DISTANCE runner to be caught

Ah… In that case, I believe that the answer is yes.

Yup. This is a "sacrificial lamb" bust. WADA can pretend they're actually doing their job and the brojos can pretend they're "tough on drug cheats." Meanwhile the big dopers go skating by.
Robert, you didn't ask one of the most important questions you should have asked based on his prepared statement:
Mo states: "against my better judgement, and after hours of lengthy discussions, I made the in-wise decision to purchase EPO."
Based on this the paramount question to ask in order to clean up the sport is "who was he having these hours of discussion with?" Because if the decision was "against his better judgement" it must have been someone pretty influential and they must have been lobbying hard for it.
Ok, so Mo is out now, but we vitally NEED to get the person who he had these discussions with and who convinced him this was the a good idea. That is the guy who is most dangerous and can hurt the sport going forward. The discussion needs to center on who that person is and eminence pressure put on Mo to disclose who it was.
Who is Mo's coach, agent and close friends and training partners? Because based on his statement they are all suspects until he comes clean with who these discussions were with exactly.
question #5 was who were the discussions with
and the article is clear that trafeh was self coached and did much of his training in north africa

yup, the little guys like gay, asafa powell, sherone simpson, gatlin and merritt. absolutely. barely heard of those people. they can't have more than 3 or 4 gold medals amongst them. and probably only 1 world record. sheesh. minnows.
moron.

You are correct - I missed that questions. I think it needs to be a focal point though of of paramount importance going forward.
We know Mo is out, the coming USADA punishment and his retirement takes care of that. So our focal point of investigation needs to be on finding out who this advisor is. How about his agent? I would think we need to suspect them as well until Mo coughs up the name of the advisor. If it is not his agent then I would expect his agent to put serious pressure on him to disclose this advisor.
Side note: very interesting to me that "agip" answers for Robert now (or is he one of Robert's screen names)
It's time to rehabilitate the source with Wejo's good cop routine to offset Rojo's "I'll break you" bad cop. If Trafeh really wants to talk, he'll likely give you additional reasons why he was going to use. Whoever pointed out the difference between buying EPO and the gray area services - nice. That's the trail....
to be clear, I am absolutely advocating direct hard questions. I think you are a bit confused about where some of us on this thread are saying.
I won a trophy when Christian Hesch got busted. What do I get this time??

My thoughts? This is one lame story. It's a press release from the lawyer, a bunch of questions you weren't able to get answers to, and a summary of the guys accomplishments.
As far as news articles go, this one stinks.
It seems like the journalists (& their questions) have become the story, not Mo Trafeh. I thought it was the responsibility of journalists to make sure the story was never about themselves.
Good thing he wasn't busted with xenon.
What, a top track athlete who has never tested positive, was on PED's?
NO WAY!
Get your distance heads out of your distance azses. It's so painfully obvious that the VAST majority of you have never been at the top level, have never seen the top level, and have never known or been around anybody at the top level.
