They run tons of miles everyday and dont look for secrets.

okay bored, so from the book:
the Armed Forces team xc training week in week out from November to March:
M: AM- 40-60 min how you feel, mid day- 90 min long run starting steady finishing fast, PM- 40 min easy jogging
T: AM- same as Monday, mid day- fartlek, 1 hour, PM- same as Monday
W: AM- same as Monday, mid day- tempo run, 70 min, extremely hard, PM- same as Monday
T: AM- same as Monday, mid day- hill work 27 min constant uphill, PM- same as Monday
F: AM- same as Monday, mid day- steady run 70 min commonly up to full speed after 20 min, PM- same as Monday
S: AM- same as Monday, mid day- tempo run 60-80 min flat out or competition(race), PM- rest
S: rest day
