An Ohio-based cop got her finger shot off and said her two natural childbirths weren't nearly as painful as getting her one finger shot off. Luckily she's on full pay while she's getting physical rehab for her missing digit until she recovers.

Childbirth is a very ordinary human experience. Well over a 100 BILLION people have been born. During each of those births the human body has prepared itself for the event.
I don't know about getting a finger shot off, but I am unequivocally sure that no childbirth can be as painful as getting your penis stuck in your zipper!
Everyone is different. The amount of time my wife's sister spent in labor delivering four children was less than half the time it took my wife to give birth to one child. Some women pop them out, for others it is not easy.
Having dealt with kidney stones for years before having a child, my wife was assured the kidney stone attacts would be more painful than childbirth. For her, that statement wasn't even close to being true. Even after a couple days of labor - 24 hours of potassin and having no pain killers - the baby's heart rate dropped so much, she ended up with a C-section anyway.
That said, I'm sure having a finger shot off was extremely painful.
And... this is surprising to you?
Is each finger different?
Interestingly enough, I just talked to a guy that had been shot. Once to the hand, which blew a finger off, and three times in the buttocks and legs. He said the lower body wounds felt like a red hot needle, but he didn't even notice his finger was gone until he saw large blood pool by his side. I asked him what caliber bullet, he said 9mm and .38, lol. In inquired as to whether he new the assailants, he said he did but it was a misunderstanding. He didn't elaborate and I quit asking questions
