Hi,
My training buddy actually nick named me "Training man" recently because I match him on all of our training, be it intervals, tempos and long runs, but I am well behind him in all races we do together. He is 2 min faster in 10K, 3 min faster in the half marathon, and 5 min faster in the marathon.
So I just can't seem to get the mental toughness to push during races, sometimes even doing worse times than during training (for example, early May, I did a 10K tempo run that was almost 1 minute faster than a race I did few weeks before that on a similar route.)
My question: how to train a race mind set and mental toughness so that I can push even more and realize my true potential rather than every race ending up just like yet another training run?
cheers!
TM
