My Sarah was 2nd in 36:51!
Forgot to shoot up before the race?
Any other results?
I hope to god that someone bitch slapped that little cheating shit.
Dennis ran like the true champion he is and it was great tosee, since I was out on the course running the womens race :O)Eddy was duly subdued to talk to both before and after the race. Its not that I felt sorry for him but at the same timethere was a feeling of sadness..........It was a beautiful day for running in Cali today :O)

When Eddy was introduced at the start, a few people clapped, but most people just stood there in disgust, and there were a few crys of "just say no".
Yeah I believe it... Guess I missed the intros....

full results.
I was there and a few people booed and said just say no when they did the introductions before the race. I was disappointed Eddy ran, but some ways I feel sorry for the guy. I would not trade places with him for anything. He looks stressed out, big bags under his eyes, and seemed kind of short tempered (no pun intended there). Guess the stress of a positive A and B sample will do that to you.
Nice run Dan....the NB Excelsior masters are looking good! 5 guys under 34 minutes.
I know you can have bad races and all, but this paragraph seems to scream I AM A DRUG CHEAT NOT ON DRUGS ANYMORE!
"Simonaitis used perfect racing conditions in the low 50s to avenge last year's second-place performance to rival Eddy Hellebuyck. Brian Pope, 41, of Oxford, MS placed second, well behind Simonaitis in 30:47. Hellebuyck, 43, of Albuquerque, NM was third, over two minutes slower than his national masters record of 29:05 SET IN THIS RACE IN 2003. Hellebuyck, who holds multiple U.S. masters records, competed despite an out-of-competition positive drug test for erythropoietin (EPO) last January that he is contesting."
When Eddy was introduced at the start, I heard only clapping. Same for the awards. We love him here he put Paso Robles on the map. I think for what he has been thru he ran great. Dennis S said Eddy helped him in the race to run a faster time. So after being injured, then this USADA thing, and he mentioned he and his wife were sick all week but he still came to the event proves he has more talent in his left testicle than most readers on this message board, and that is why he is hated..envy. How Hinderloppet cannot beat this guy says alot. Just like people on this board said Coach Joe Vigil was a failure after the trials, and Meb is not an American, Khannouchi is finished..the list is endless. Well the same spineless readers who believe what they read on this board can get in the apology line when this gets resolved. There is alot to be learned from Tyler Hamilton that there are faults in the testing. I was glad that all the masters athletes including me were very nice to Eddy, even after he beat them. His 8 year old son ran a 19 minute 5k, keep the talent coming to Paso Robles you are always welcome. Did anyone else contribute to the victims of our earthquake after last years race? Eddy did.

That must have been from all the drug guilt. He will be making another contribution this year and that's to the finishers behind him when he is stripped of that money when his faulty EPO protest is overturned.
We all know who Hinderloppet is. Feel free to tell us who you are, Mr. Broken English.
Sounds like another one of Eddy's HS kids to me.
Eddy put Paso Robles on the map???? gimme a break, we're talking about Eddy Hellybuyck here not Eddie Murphy.
A full 2 minutes slower than last year; that says it all to me.

Nonsense. Eddy is "hated" because there's substantial evidence that he's a cheat. As for Hamilton's situation, I'm not sure what there is to be learned, except that you can get away with cheating (and even get to keep an Olympic gold medal) if a lab technician screws up.
Broken English? Try UCLA grad, but I guess that can be considered broken english. Does anyone care that the biggest earner yesterday, Antoni Niemczak tested positive 3 times for steroids (NY marathon, Polish Champs and Tokyo marathon), and never contested the findings. Steroids are a yes or no, not some "intrepretation issue" which is what EPO is. Eddy wont have to "give back" any earnings, the race can pay whoever they want to participate regardless of their status. But maybe that requires a BA in broken english
to comprehend.
Masters from the wine country....
I do not believe it is envy that people say the things they do about Eddy, but maybe in some ways, a little bit of disgust. I thought that it was great the way Eddy was running last year. I figured that it was possible since he was still training well, doing two a days and running 120 miles a week. But then the test comes along and shows that he had some help. So, all of a sudden Mr. Hero goes to being someone who broke the law. Who knows, maybe all of us will end up with egg on our face next week after Eddy's hearing about his positive test.
But......Tyler Hamilton's situation and Eddy's are totally different. In Hamilton's situation, the testing protocol actually stood up to what it was supposed to do. His B sample was mistakenly frozen and could not be tested to show a positive. Thus, he could not be stripped of his medal because he did not have a positive A and B sample (such as with Bernard Lagat who had only a positive A).
In Eddy's situation (from what I have heard and read, anyone can correct me if I am wrong here), both his A and B sample came back positive. So, his only avenue is to try and say the test is flawed somehow and that is why he had a positive.
In regards to Eddy beating me, he should be able to kick my ass right now. I work a 45-50 hour a week stressful job and train once a day for about an hour. Compare that to training twice a day and running a 120 miles a week to the 60-70 I do, he should be miles and miles ahead of me!
Dear Masters from the Wine Country,
Niemczak is a cheat, Hellybuyck is a cheat too and for the record, Eddy will have to return any USATF money that he picked up whrn his positive test is confirmed at his hearing.
He can hopwever keep the money he stole from Heritage Oaks Bank and the clean runners who finished behind him.

I care. Interesting to see that Niemczak is living in Albuquerque these days. Any idea who his training partners might be?
