Whenever I eat walnuts my throat suddenly feels extremely dry and I cough. No other food does this to me.
But there are no other symptoms that would indicate an allergic reaction.
So what the hell?

Be careful. I have a treenut allergy that came on later in life. Mine started in a similar way.
Hopefully you just have a small reaction and it stays that way, but nuts are dangerous in that you can be fine with them and all of a sudden go anaphylactic.
I would go see an allergist who specializes in foods and get checked out. At least to get an epipen in the event that it ever gets worse.
One of my favorite things in the world was a big bag of salted pistachios; I used to get one every Christmas. I can no longer eat them :(
I agree with the above poster. It could be the start of an allergy. Some food allergies improve with increased/continued exposure, whereas others worsen with increased/continued exposure. There's no way to tell which way it will go, so definitely see an allergist and get yourself an epipen just in case.
