How fast is this course? Is it pancake-flat or close to it? People always seem to PR there.
FLAT

Since this site doesn't appear to work try:
http://goprincetontigers.collegesports.com/sports/m-xc/stats/092504aaa.htmlIt's fast, but not pancake flat. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is easy), I'd say a 3. The 1st mile is totally flat. Second has a long, very gradual upgrade, then becomes flat. The third starts downhill, then rolls a little, and the inexperienced runners have problems on it because they got sucked out by the easy terrain of the first 2.5 miles. If you stay to watch the lower caliber teams, you see a fair number sucking wind at the 3 mile marker. Four is slight up grade, flat through the middle, slight down hill. The first half of the fifth is slightly uphill, which once again kills the inexperienced guys because they're dead by now. 600 or so from the end, you go downhill and then it flattens out for a long straightaway.
there are much much faster.
hi i can post now!
don't we go through this every year? i always thought it was pretty much a given that this course is a little short. but whatever, it's cross country.
Yeah people who have never run there bring it up each year... The course has been around for ages with many many championship meets run there. It is very legit. Pretty flat but not so much so as to be a joke. If it's a good day, people will run pretty fast.
