Hey there everyone. So I was wondering, last yr I had a PR of 18:21 5k. Been running outside for the majority of the winter working on base for the most part. Haven't done a lot of speed work, but have got some good tempos in.
Recently the last couple wks I've been experiencing a pain in the side of my knee. I think it's a IT band (runners knee) issue.. I've been stretching it out and it's starting to feel better.
I have a race this weekend, and I've been cutting back my mileage quite a bit the last few wks.. Kind of worried about my current fitness due to these last few wks I've been running easy pace mostly, and low mileage..
My question is can I take right off and be in the 18's or maybe even sub 18 for this next race? From last yr and before my injury?
I've maintained the same weight maybe a pound or two less..
Any help appreciated. thanks
