I'm home for spring break this week, and having never done any runs longer than 10 miles in my hometown before, I never realized how hilly it is. I'm training for my first marathon, and this weekend I have 18 miles on the schedule. However, the roads around here have a LOT of stretches of pretty steep hills. It's very tiring, and when I did 16 miles last weekend, it caused me to run slower than I would've liked.
Should I try to find a flatter place to do my long run? Or should I just suck it up and run slowly to conserve my energy on these hills?
