If it's true I'm betting it's going to be some BS substance that is negligible.
Either way, really bad for the Centro family. It almost makes his dad's accomplishments questionable as well. Was Centro Sr. blood doping?

If this is indeed confirmed, I wonder what Centrowitz is going to say. He obviously can't use the "I unknowlingly took a banned substance in a supplement" excuse being a part of NOP and all.
Trainer Sabotage.
To expand on this I could easily see Nike/NOP giving up one of their guys as the sacrificial lamb with a nice severance package on account he "fesses up" to something or a similar situation.
Assuming you're American, how can you say this? Alberto's antics disgusted me as much as the other people on this board who don't work in Beaverton at the waffle irons, but this is just sad. Centro seems like a tough dude who just wails on people, above all of the fragility of the rest of NOP. What do people think about the substance, assuming this is true? What are the other high profile doping busts of distance runners recently? I can't remember what Ramzi got busted for, or the Turkish 1500 runner. Testosterone?I wonder what Steve Magness has to say about this.

This story is going to be oh-so-delicious. I can already taste it.
If true, what would be the implications to the rest of Salazar's runners? Will the whole group go down? with their doctors dope testing them everyday its going to be hard to just think he was the only one, this would implicate the rest of the group: Mo, Rupp, Cain, Hassay, Treniere…
I don't think its much of a secret that USADA has been investigating them heavily, especially after reports of other athletes witnessing adrenaline injections right before the Olympic 10k and such
There's been a lot of talk about runners in Eugene in the 70s taking testosterone, wouldn't be surprised if Sr as well as AlSal and others were on the sauce

Maybe you should ask his best friend Don Clary about drugs?
If this is true, I am savoring the last few hours before EVERY GOD DAMNED THREAD on letsrun is about this topic for a couple weeks.
Just savoring it...just...just enjoying the silence while I can.
If all the NOP athletes are on a substance, I don't know how one of them is just now getting caught. Rupp's been tested to death and nothing's been found.
Maybe they just slipped up this time?

NOP hater or not, I can't imagine why you would be happy about this. We'd be losing one of our best runners. Possibly three or four great American runners if all were involved.
Assuming you are American...I just don't understand why you would be savoring this in any form.
I eagerly await the confirmation. If it ain't confirmed, you and letsrun have a LOT of explaining to do. Simply deleting this thread now will not be good enough.

On cue the town idiot speaks. This thread has been taken down twice already and put back up. The mods did their job and we're overruled by management.

We've been over this before. Passing tests does not mean someone isn't doping. It means they aren't stupid and/or just blatantly doping.
I still operate completely on innocent until proven guilty, but passing tests does not mean innocent.
still want to clarify that I do not know who Former Duck is, and none of the old guys I have talked have said anything other than this is completely made up. These include those in the "inner circle".

At last a small ray of hope
Question,
Are there different banned substances in and out of competition? I knw many over the counter meds are banned in comp, but can you take those out of competition?
Or is it a big list of things you can never take?

I think you misunderstand my post. Drink some coffee.

Yes, there are certain stimulants or appetite suppressants that are ridiculous legal out of competition, but not in competition. Phentermine, for instance. Despicable.
