I'm a high school junior who has been experiencing a lot of trouble over the past few months. Prior to this winter season, I prides myself on my consistency, both in training and races, but now I seem to have lost ally zeal for the sport. I've fallen off in nearly all my races, and I can't hit the same number of miles or the same speeds I was hitting for distance runs. I'm feeling tired all the time. I recently got some blood work done and found out that my ferritin levels were 30. The doctor (not a running specialist) seems to think that this eliminates iron deficiency anemia from consideration, but is it possible that this relatively low ferritin value is contributing to my fatigue? If not, what else could this be? Given my reductions in volume and intensity over the past few months, I am starting to doubt that it could still be overtraining? (I've run in the low 40s for weekly mileage when I was doing 54 during cross country). Thanks so much!
