Hi, I just became assistant coach at a college. I was informed by the athletic director that as the distance coach, I have to meet the runners at a point during their distance run, and then again back at the school. The previous coach did not do this. Is this a bs rule or do other colleges do this?
I also coach at a high school and the kids are allowed on distance runs by themselves no problem. I don't see why I need to drive or bike to a point to meet the college runners when they are just doing an easy run in a group.
