Hey there everyone. Only been running for about 2 yrs now in May. Mostly focused on 5k's, and losing weight.. Well I guess in the meantime I caught the runnin bug. MY 5k PR is 18:21. Would really love to go sub 18 this yr. This yr i'm doing my first half marathon. Gonna try to shoot for sub 1:30 in that one.
I'm a 35/m been doing a lot of mileage over the winter usually shoot for 50mpw+. Don't really do a lot of speedwork outdoors cuz of the snow/ice and all that. So I try to do that on a treadmill this time of yr.
Anyways, my question is can I be close to sub 18, a low 18, or at least pick up where I left off come spring time and better temps without a lot of speedwork over the winter months.
Also, is a sub 1:30 a good time to shoot for, for my first half marathon?
Thanks for any help.
