NOPing dopers. Yummy oregon juice.
Your statement is atrocious. You have clumped in alleged cheaters, admitted dopers, and people like Paula Radcliffe who clearly were not abusing PEDs.
Um, looks like scratchy was writing that flojo, marion, lance, rupp and paula are all equally innocent of doping. Must be a Freudian slip on jack frost's part because he truely, and correctly believes that Radcliffe was the most outrageous doper of all time.
So Jack Frost is saying that Rupp is a cheater, but Radcliffe wasn't?
Jack Frost is the troll of the day. Tipped his hand when he claimed that Paula wasn't juiced. Nice one though, almost thought that there was one person who thought Rupp was legit.
I feel that it is outlandish for jack frost to sully the reputation of flojo. She never once tested positive.
That was the point of my post. There were allegations (not mine) that Rupp was injecting "pure adrenaline" prior to an Olympic final. I was simply pointing out that if that were to be the case it was most likely just an epi-pen, and that it didn't need to be so sensationalized. Your problem is with the allegations that Rupp was injecting adrenaline prior to a race, which I agree are absurd. Christ.
OP, remember when rupp went pro out of high school and paid the parsley sum of $6000 to regain his eligibility? Only Nike's little golden boy would get away with that. Once ineligible, thats that. Its over, or so the NCAA claims. When the UO coach Martin is removed and lanana comes in, he still trained with Salazar the whole time, again, only Nike's little golden boy. Sleeping in the NIKE altitude house the whole time, etc...
A thyroid imbalance? Why don't you jot down his TSH and T3/T4 values. I would LOVE to see what they actually are. The fact that some other running group is also doing that means nothing to me, its still wrong no matter who does it. You even wonder why people dislike him? If he has a personality, he rarely shows it. I remember him walking by Bumbalough's extended hand at the trials. I remember him having a similarly pouty disposition after solinsky's AR. In contrast, I remember Solinsky at NCAA cross having a bad day, publicly apologizing to his team (he was sick), and looking the winning team in the eyes and shaking their hands anyway. I remember rupp and his buddies uninhibited and shamelessly chest bumping in front of 2nd and 3rd place a few years later. Perfect ambassador indeed.
You clearly have no first-hand knowledge or recollection of the events you have regurgitated in your post.
1. Martin Smith was not fired/forced to resign/leave Oregon for anything to due with Galen. After his exit, the university had to pay nearly a million dollars in civil settlement to former women's coach to put to rest a lawsuit arising from gender discrimination and harassment.
2. Galen did not "go pro" after high school. This implies he signed a professional contract, won prize money, was paid appearance fees, etc. He repaid benefits, an amount decided upon by the NCAA inquiry, that were comped by Nike but that is a far cry from what you suggest.
3. Galen was coached by Salazar during his time at U of O, but he still trained with the team. He was not sleeping in the Nike altitude house the whole time. His apartment, in Eugene, cost less than $300 dollars a month and was what most would consider a rat's nest.
4. Galen also ran a lot of races in NCAA to bolster his team's chances of winning i.e. indoors when he anchored the DMR, and doubling at outdoors.
5. Galen was upset after the 10k at Stanford, I'm sure, but he still manned up and shook Solinsky's hand afterwards- even if the guy failed to hold up his end of the pacing duties bargain.
Jack Frost you sir have your head in the sand more than anybody I've ever heard concerning Galen Rupp. You clearly are not heavy into the sport and know how things work. Let me fill you in a bit. People don't ridicule Rupp because of the times he runs.. People Ridicule him because of how he runs the times and WHEN he runs the times. Not to mention when you have an entire group having a resurgence like the NOP then it raises the big Red Flags IE the Chinese in the 90's and the East Germans in the 70's and 80's. Galen Rupp and the NOP are no different than Usain Bolts camp down in Jamaica. All of a sudden you have a bunch of guys running times that were not progressed to, but just came out of the blue. Galen Rupp has been a known 5k/10k guy since he was in highschool and now all of a sudden he is running 3:50 Indoor miles and talking about going for the WR in an event that isn't even his specialty. On that same note Mo Farah is the same way. You don't just drop a 3:28 1500m out of the blue when your previous PB was 3:34 and you hadn't ran the distance in a few years.. Treniere Moser was talking retirement before Nike said for her to go to NOP and now all of a sudden she is running seconds faster than her previous PB's. So you see it's not just Galen that people question and criticize it's the whole camp. The reason Galen gets so much flack is cause he gets so much publicity. This is coming from somebody who is a fellow athlete of Rupps and has more medals than Rupp has so it's something that us IN the track game no very well.
Your logic concerning Mo Farah's 1500 is laughable. He can't PR at the prime of his athletic ability? He ran 3:34 in flats, during a workout. He then went on to win double gold. If the guy is going to break 3:30, it was going to be in this time frame of his career.
This is so lame. People find a lot to complain about. Was Rupp supposed to do cartwheels for Solinsky when Solinsky got the record when Rupp forced the pace?
And who studies every post race handshake?
Also, Mr. Know: the only fellow athlete of Galen who has more medals than him, is Mo Farah. There isn't any other current Western distance runner more decorated than these two.
You raise some fair questions, but did you ever have any concerns about PED use when Solinsky became the first Mazungo to run sub 27?
If you have more medals than Rupp, shouldn't we be suspect of your performances as well? How about a name?
Oh so now it's just easy to run 3:34 in ur FLATS!!! Hahaha I'm laughing so hard right now that you would even defend that. You still don't get it.. Mo and Galen are 5k/10k specialist. NOT MILERS. There was a time not long ago that Rupp could barely break 4:00 min outdoors in the mile and now he's talking WR indoors in the mile?? You really think the Mile record is that soft and that Rupp is faster/more talented than Hicam?! I love how you forget Moser cause you have no explanation for that. Oh and when you get injured in a race and DNF you DON'T do a workout after like nothing is wrong. I was there cooling down while he was cooling down and he was laughing like nothing had even happened. All I know is when I don't finish a race regardless of the reason I am not laughing about it. People who think Rupp is clean are laughable. Just so you know.. You don't get faster as you get older you get slower, hence the reason why runners move from the 1500 to the 5k, then 10k then Marathon. You don't start gaining a kick for a mile as you get older. That is a tall tell sign right there. Please explain to me who other besides Rupp and Farah right now are dropping down and running faster as they get older??

This. 1000x this.

triathletes.
Galen is 27 years old. This is, speaking from a physiological standpoint, the prime age for endurance athletes. It would be shocking if he wasn't setting personal bests now. He ran 3:38 in 2009 for 1500 meters at the conference meet outdoors, the day after running a 15 prelim and winning the 10k. Of course he had room for improvement.
He has also run 3:51 for the mile. That means that even a slight improvement puts him in the sub-3:50 range. I think he has to be seriously considered as a mile threat. I never said he was faster than El G. Once again, you have lumped in all sorts of illogical assumptions in with my even-handed statements.
My mention of the 3:34 in flats was only to put in perspective that if someone runs 3:34 in flats, they probably have some room for improvement. For me, it was not surprising Mo Farah ran that quickly. His closing speed in most races was indicative of a raw ability to run very fast.
I can't speak to Mosier's circumstances. I don't know her, or enough about her training, to provide an honest commentary. I can surmise she probably got injured adjusting to the new training regime. That's really all I can think of in regards to her situation.
You all are not getting it. Nobody is saying that a white westerner cannot run sub 27 in the 10k. Like I said earlier it is HOW YOU DO IT AND WHEN YOU DO IT that raises the suspicion. Not to mention you all notice that when rupp wants to do something big IE go for a record he does it at a small rink a dink meet that prolly has no drug testing and no other elite runners, but when he has to race the elites he pulls out IE Boston. I'm not saying I'm a distance runner first of all and second I'm not saying ALL good performances should be suspect. It's called PROGRESSION and Rupp doesn't have that. The red flag for Rupp is also the workouts he is doing after his American Records. That for all of you know it all's is NOT normal. As I have said I say the same thing for Bolts camp down in Jamaica. Bolt wasnt even running the 100m before 2008 and then all of a sudden he drops 9.69 WR at the Olympics? Once again there was zero Progression there. Now you see that all these guys are coming out of the woodwork out of his camp dropping 19sec 200's like they are in practice. That stuff is not normal. In sprints you don't drop your PB's by half seconds. If you go back and look at how the 100m world record has been broken over the last 20yrs... each time it is broken by on average .01-02 every time and then all of a sudden a guy comes in and breaks it by .20?? Like I said the NOP have found something knew or formulated something "new" and undetectable and to us fellow athletes it's glaringly apparent.
