It appears as if the prognosticators at the major websites all agree with me that T2 (Templeton's Tennessee nickname) will likely win FLN today.
Is Kai in the race?
"The pre-race coverage begins at 10:15 am ET."
Did I get my timezones wrong? Shouldn't it have started by now?
Ah! The screen changed!
1. Templeton
2. Maton
3. Hardy
4. Fisher
5. Hurlock
It's on!
I think Cerake will bounce back and have a better race. That said, I'm taking Maton over Templeton and Hardy and cheering for the MW
Girls Race - 9:15 am pst
Boys Race - 10:00 am pst
Wish I knew more about the runners ahead of time, but maybe this adds to the suspense and interest.
The last five girls national champions were all regional winners, which this year are Makena Morley (West), Tessa Barrett (Northeast), Caroline Alcorta (South) and Kelcy Welch (Midwest).
Makena Morley seems to be the favorite.
After last weekend I would think Taylor Werner will be in the mix too. Hopefully she doesn't idiotically wear full body tights again.
haha. you're only gonna find that stuff at NXN.

Maxwell from the west could be a darkhorse, as well as quite a few others.
TESSA BARRET AWESOME WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really bummed about how the Midwest just got beat by the Northeast. We did so well last year.
Looked like a good race. All I got was a video feed that freezes and unfreezing every few strides. If this is the best feed available I think I will skip the boys race and look for a replay later.
XNX at least had good video feed.
If is always fun to watch these kid races though.
Yeah Midwest kinda bombed on the girls side.

Amazing performance!
typical footlocker shoddiness of late--can't get a mic that works; poor direction. shameful.
Now that was an awesome race!!!
PA senior and NE champ Tessa Barret (state champ, NE champ) pushed it hard from the get go. Really tried to get awya around 7 minute mark. Jenks tried to go with her and it looked to be a 2 girl rac.e
But at the 15:30 mark, another NE girl, 10th grader Hannah DeBalsi (3rd at NE), who probably had been like 4-5 for most of the race came right up on Barrett and I was like,"Oh man, all that work for nothing."
But no Barrett fought back and got the win.
Way more interesting than 99% of distance races.
"Really my tactic was just to go out and run. I really wanted to enjoy the weather where I'm from it's pretty cold," said Barrett.
"It's surreal. I can't really believe it happened," said Barrett after the race which also was her first time on a plane and her first trip to the West Coast.
Damn these commentators are just taking shots at NXN.
